I read it in my issue that came in the mail. Your essay is way-crazy-awesome! Go, you! You've now been published by both the places I really want to be accepted by but always get rejected by - you're in the big times! Congrats!!!!!!!!

Andrea, that's awesome. That publication is pretty new to me, but I love everything I've read in it so far - I'll have to get my hands on a copy so I check out your piece. Congratulations!

Hi, Andrea. I just read your essay in Brain, Child. Congratulations, it's a wonderful essay and what an honor to have it in such a fine publication.
My five-year-old son is over-the-top into guns as well. And, my husband and I are so not into guns. So, I can relate to much of what you wrote. It's funny, I also wrote about this topic in an essay workshop I took two months ago with Lisa Romeo.
I was inspired to see your essay in print. Thanks for sharing it.

Ditto what Motherlogue said above...awesome essay and some of the same issues I was/am dealing with as a peace-lovin Mama of two boys (now 10 & 9). I too explored this in an essay, but from the point of view that my husband's view differed from mine (i.e. he's from a long line of Naval Acadamy men!). I think reading your piece really helped me see clearly what I was trying to say in mine. <3
