Weekend Hike ~ Mt. Pisgah

We had some business to take care of in town before Saturday's afternoon baseball game.

To help soften the blow of having to go to town on the weekend (I really hate going to Augusta when I don't already have to be there for work), we squeezed a morning hike in.

I hadn't been to this little mountain since E and Z were four years old and I had to lure them up the trail with orange slices and lollipops.

This time they ran up ahead and I didn't have to bribe them once.

The area is very pleasant, with big, old trees and a fire tower on top that you can climb.

The sky was so clear we could see the snow on top of Mt. Washington (way over in New Hampshire).

C and Z discovered this little milk snake hiding out in a crack in the rock.

A new trail has been added since our last visit, so we were able to make it a loop with no need of walking on the fire tower road.

The rest of the weekend was taken up by baseball and housework and more baseball, so this little climb was the highlight.
